Overcoming Challenges...I Stopped Drinking Diet Soda! I Stopped Aspartame! Stop Unhealthy Habit!

Making healthy choices is a goal I've been focusing on much of my life. However, for 36 years there was this one area....drinking way too much diet soda....that was way out of line with that goal. Some days I drank 1 to 2 liters a day! I felt like a slave! Well...I'm happy to say I gave it up! No more diet soda for me! It's been 5 months and I haven't had one drop! I've been drinking sparkling water, sometimes with a squeeze of lemon, and filtered water. For a sweeter treat, I enjoy decaffeinated hazelnut coffee ... << MORE >>

Lo-Impact Aerobics Class for Cardio Exercise at Home with Debbie Jorde, AFAA Certified Instructor

Hi friends, family and all other people who see this blog,

We all know exercise is important for our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.  I was fortunate to have been attracted to being physically active since childhood, so staying active has been easier for me than for many people.   Over 30 years ago I made the decision to teach aerobics.   I saw it as a good opportunity to stay healthy and get paid to exercise.   I also liked removing the element of possible procrastination.   Now 30 years later, ...

Bonneville Salt Flats: Debbie Jorde Enjoying Sights of SLC with Heather and Logan Madsen

Friday, May 18, 2012, Heather, Logan and I set out on our first adventure of many proposed future adventures to explore the sights and places that Salt Lake City and neighboring cities and states offer. We drove to the Bonneville Salt Flats. We had a wonderful time! I commented to Heather and Logan, "Sometimes I feel like we're the three musketeers! It's a nice thought." We enjoyed each other's company during the drive talking about whatever came to our minds.

We were impressed with the Bonneville Salt Flats. I had to keep reminding myself that I was looking at salt flats and not a sandy beach. I learned that that Salt Flats span over 30,000 acres. Speed Week is held in mid August and World of Speed is held in mid September. Perhaps we will go see a race for a future activity

Having driven for 2 hours, we decided to drive another 15 minutes to Wendover, Neveda for a bite to eat and some more fun. We enjoyed eating breakfast foods for dinner and acting as a team to play digital poker. We played on $20 for 1 1/2 hrs. We were so happy to be having some fun! Physical and emotional challenges use so much of our time and energy, sometimes we don't plan enough activities to have fun. After several years of projects that took a lot of my time and energy, my new project is to create more fun times with Heather and Logan. So far we are planning on spending every other Friday to see the sights. Our next destination is Thanksgiving Point

Spending quality time with my friends and family has always been my heart's desire. Now, after years of creating an art business for Logan, building my salon, and writing and publishing my book, I'm making it a priority!
